Wire Builder is an editor tool designed to simplify the process of creating suspended wires in Unity. With its intuitive click & drag scene-view editor, you can connect wires between GameObjects and create complex wire networks with ease. Key features include preset-based wire type settings, per-wire adjustable sagging, and adjustable wire resolution per meter. Wire Builder also supports LineRenderer or MeshRenderer wire generation, animated wire shaders, and compatibility with 2D scene views. Additionally, it includes functions for removing vegetation underneath wires and setting tags and layers for generated wires.
Wire Builder is an editor-only tool, meaning editing cannot be done at runtime. Wires have a centered pivot, making them compatible with World Streamer or other grid systems. The tool includes Amplify Shader Editor and URP Shader Graph functions for the shader animation effect. However, wires have no collision or physics interaction, and editing is limited to the editor environment.
