modl:test is a Unity package designed for game projects with an individual character per player in 2D or 3D environments. The AI bots take over the player controls and explore the current scene as long as the test runs. It's not recommended for GUI-driven gameplay but can extend to explore menu options or dialogue trees through scripting.
To get started, you can try the plug-in in the editor and experiment with your game or our sample game project. To run complete tests, you'll need an account. Once you have an account, you can:
- Add the plug-in and configure it to control your player character and collect data from your game build
- Review the bot behavior and preview testing in the editor
- Upload the build to the modl.ai platform to prepare tests for running
- Run a test with custom settings
- Review the generated reports for detected issues and events
- Fix and repeat as needed
modl:test offers automated exhaustive testing, easy setup, and low maintenance. The AI bots start from scratch and learn while playing a scene, and no training or waiting is required. The package also provides data-rich feedback, including heatmaps and path data for easy analysis, full recording of test runs, and performance assessment for every build.
Supported editor platforms: Windows, Linux, macOS (Intel only, Apple Silicon support coming soon)
